October 31, 2017 // Boston, MA: On Monday, November 13, CFA Society Boston will host its 5th Sustainable Investing Seminar, Sustainable Investing: Moving into the Mainstream, an annual event that helps mainstream financial professionals navigate sustainable investing challenges.
As companies have become more environmentally and socially focused, sustainable investors are moving away from divestment and towards using Sustainable Investing data to look for opportunities as well as moving into thematic and impact investing. New platforms continue to be developed to measure sustainability and provide more transparent and reliable data. However, work continues to standardize company reporting and educate both investors and advisors on the best way to use Sustainable Investing data in constructing investment portfolios.
This event will bring together an array of industry professionals who will present on topics that include engagement, fixed income and performance, reporting, and quantitative analysis. An underlying focus on data and its future direction in the industry will be present throughout all the presentations.
“As investors, ESG data is an essential component to evaluating a company’s financial strength and management quality,” said Matthew Patsky, CEO of Trillium Asset Management. “This additional lens can help improve investment insight and decision making and may reduce portfolio risk.” Patsky will moderate a corporate panel discussion entitled, Innovations in Reporting: Delivering a Better Investment Message.
Additional speakers will include representatives from JetBlue, General Electric, BlackRock, Nestlé, Campbell Soup Company, General Motors, MSCI, Natixis, Morgan Stanley, and Pension Fund Association of Japan.
Sponsors include MSCI, Inc., Oppenheimer Funds, Pax World Management, Trillium Asset Management, and T. Rowe Price. More details, including agenda and speakers, can be found at www.CFABoston.org/SustainableInvesting2017.
