Trillium Asset Management Presents Anti-Landmine Proposal at GE Stockholder Meeting(Archive)

APRIL 24, 2001 – At General Electric’s annual stockholder meeting in Atlanta tomorrow, Trillium Asset Management will speak in favor of a shareholder proposal calling upon the company to renounce any further involvement in the landmine business. The proposal, sponsored by schoolteacher and anti-landmine activist Jeffrey Harwood, is being sponsored by several religious institutions and individuals, including a client of Trillium Asset Management. The proposal is part of a campaign to persuade the nearly 50 companies that have manufactured landmine components to permanently renounce this activity. Nineteen companies (among them Motorala) have taken the “anti-landmine” pledge. The most prominent holdout is GE. For more information, visit our our landmine page.
