Alex Jovanovic, CFP®

Alex Jovanovic is Chief Executive Officer of Trillium Asset Management. With more than two decades of experience in sustainable and responsible investing, Alex is responsible for leading the firm’s strategic direction focused on sustainable and values-aligned long-term growth.

Since joining Trillium in 2013, Alex has held a series of leadership roles, most recently serving as Managing Director of Private Client. Throughout his tenure, he has played a key role in expanding the firm's client offering, strengthening its market presence, and deepening relationships with individuals, families, foundations, and institutions seeking investments aligned with their values. Prior to joining Trillium, he spent nearly a decade at Boston Common Asset Management, where he managed client relationships and supported the firm's business development efforts.

Alex is a passionate advocate for investing as a force for positive change and believes that active ownership, rigorous research, and long-term thinking can help create a more just, equitable, and sustainable world. He brings a commitment to fiduciary excellence, client partnership, and purpose-driven leadership to his role at Trillium.

Alex received his B.A. from Tufts University with a double major in International Relations and Economics and is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. He serves on the Advisory Council of Community Cooks and previously served on the Leadership Team of the Boston Area Sustainable Investment Consortium (BASIC).

Originally from the South Side of Chicago, Alex developed an interest in equity and inclusion early on. His family’s ancestral roots in central Serbia also cultivated a passion for sustainable agriculture and farmers. From the age of five through college, he was a Serbian Folk Dancer and performed with the Grachanitsa Folk Dance Ensemble in Boston. Currently living on the North Shore of Massachusetts with his wife and three daughters, Alex is an avid hiker, mountain biker and skier taking full advantage of the natural riches provided throughout New England.
