Trillium Asset Management and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) have released Rising Temperatures, Rising Risks: An Investor Guide to Heat Hazards and Worker Safety, a new resource to help investors understand and address the growing impacts of workplace heat exposure.

As climate change drives more frequent and intense heat events, workers across both outdoor and indoor industries—including agriculture, construction, manufacturing, warehousing, restaurants, and delivery operations—face increasing health and safety risks. Heat stress can lead to productivity losses, workplace injuries, turnover, operational disruptions, supply-chain challenges, regulatory exposure, and reputational harm.

The report outlines the business case for stronger heat protections and provides investors with practical questions to evaluate company preparedness. It also highlights evidence that investments in heat-safety measures can reduce injuries, improve productivity, strengthen workforce retention, and enhance operational resilience.

The guide reflects Trillium’s longstanding commitment to worker rights and responsible business practices through shareholder advocacy and investor engagement.
