Trillium and Business Coalition Announce Push to Support the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act

Dear U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator and Members of Congress,

As civil rights leader John Lewis said, “When you see something that is not right, not fair, not just, you have to speak up. You have to say something; you have to do something.”

Trillium is honored today to join 160 other companies calling on Congress to honor John Lewis’s legacy and to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

In many states, our democracy is at risk, with almost 400 state bills proposed that would restrict voter access to the polls. This situation highlights the need for voting rights protections – protections that have received bipartisan support for over 50 years – that will make voting safe and accessible to us all, including voters of color who have historically been the targets of discriminatory voting laws.

Investors are quickly coming to understand that we have a responsibility to stand up for a healthy democracy. We are all in this together and whether you are motivated by financial stability or racial justice, our shared prosperity is undeniable. This has not historically been - and should not be - a partisan issue. It is an American issue.

We have been privileged to be a part of bringing brand name companies to join this letter and encourage everyone to click here to view the full letter and list of signatories.
